I am curious to see what kind of stamp this is. It almost feels like tissue paper.

Definitely Austrian, but not postal. Possibly revenue or an official stamp of some kind?

Looks like something from Austria, but I don't think it will be listed in most catalogs. Maybe some type of revenue.

1898 Austrian Revenue as explained above.
35 denominations in the Heller / Kronen currency

WARNING! design printed on both sides of the paper, if you soak off document, they will fall to pieces.

Yes, cancelled on May 8th (8/V/1900). The old fashioned European way of writting the month number (5 on this case) in Roman figures ("v" for 5). We still write d/m/y.
