This seems to be a recurring issue for me. I recently lost a Bermuda KGVI 12/6 Keyplate. Found it about 2 months later in an approval card I used for scanning. Now I've lost an inscription block of KGVI Ascension island stamps, still not found....

Not valuable stamps, but some US postage I sold on ebay, and then couldnt find the item to send to the buyer. Luckily he accepted a substitute lot, as it was only for postage anyway, and he wasnt a stamp guy.

The missing stamps turned up about 6 months later, deep under a pile of other material. My problem is that things get lost whenever I'm forced to do a periodic clear-up. If I never cleaned up I would never lose things!

That's also a gripe I have about Buy-it-Nows, which can only get worse with the 'good-til-cancelled' system. If I list things for a 7-day auction, I never lose them, but if its a 30-day delay, then they might get lost.
A lot of stamps flow under the bridge in 30 days, especially if there has been an auction visit in the meantime.

Years ago, I misplaced the 1 pound value for the Bahamas 1942 Landfall of Columbus overprint set. It's never turned up and I'm fairly certain I did not accidentally throw it away. Probably buried somewhere in an envelope or cigar box.

Didn't the owner of one of the 24c C3a's (the "upside down airplane" stamp) lose that stamp once? After a search, it was found in the vacuum cleaner bag. Apparently, the person who cleaned his office managed to knock it on the floor (I know, what was it doing on his desk?). Or maybe he accidentally dropped it himself and didn't notice. Then it got vacuumed up.

I never leave my C3a lying on my desk like that.

Neither would I DrewM, if I really owned one!

Yes but sometimes it was not there the first time I looked in the same place! 8-)
