Why are United States Christmas postage stamps from the 1960s through 1980s that have denominations of 6c to 25c difficult to sell or sell for such a great discount of FV compared to other subject stamps?

I imagine that most religious holiday-type or other very specific stamps are less appealing as discount postage. If you have the slightest interest in what you're putting on the envelope, these will be inappropriate for most of the year.
Good point. There seems to be low demand and low sales of plate blocks of Christmas stamps as well from a collectibility perspective.
From a discount postage standpoint, I guess people pay more bills online to where there is little demand for holiday themed stamps as discount postage.
