I need either confirmation of my plating or other suggestions on a recent purchase. It was labeled a Type V but I feel that was incorrect. My best guess is it's a Scott #24 position 96R5, type Va. I have found only one decent comparable (on the Siegel site) and the one shown by Neinken is very inadequate, but there are several clues that lead me to the 96R5:
1. It is obviously a 10th row stamp - bottom selvage.
2. Side ornament R is mostly complete.
3. The top left & right ornaments are faint and the teardrops on the corners of each are missing.
4. Mine shows a vertical line to the right of ornament P which though unclear appears to exist on the Siegel example.
Several other items are highlighted with arrows on the stamp below.
