Peter,

I use a straight border for my collection - it does not take away from the stamps.

Tastes do differ, but I agree, for me, I also like a simple border that doesn't detract from the stamps.
Currently, I use a classic serif font for the title and add a minimum of extraneous information.

But of course, everyone has their own idea of what we would like on our pages which is why we make our own.

Clive -

That is a very nice looking page - I like it.

I know I have said it before - but AlbumEasy is awesome, especially for larger projects. It makes it easy to make global changes project-wide, which is a big plus in my book...

I also appreciate the way you update the software, adding new features.

Last, but not least, I like the way you offer user-designed stamp albums to the community on your web site. An average user, with a little effort, can hack/tweak these to taste.

AlbumEasy offers a lot of features for the Frugal Philatelist!

If you are happy with MS Publisher then what is the point of considering something else?

Don't take any comments the wrong way. My only constructive criticism would be about the command line only interface.

I do like to keep abreast of alternatives. In part to keep up on the topic to give some advice to others looking for a method. Also, I wouldn't recommend MS Pub for someone starting out.

Most of the people I know interested in making pages are less than technical and have no desire to script or code. While I enjoy it, this is a hindrance for them and most of the younger generations who expect GUI / WYSIWYG / DnD. I could be wrong and there are always exceptions. I'm sure a DnD interface would be a huge lift and probably be more than you'd want to tackle for freeware.

Over the years, I have found viable alternatives but since I am so far along, not advantageous enough to make it worth the effort (or cost) to change. I'm also big on reuse. If already own something there has to be a substantial advantage to change. Most of the software(s) that I use were bought for some other reason, not for stamp collecting.

If I was just starting out, AlbumEasy would be a strong contender for me.

@johnsim03
John,
Thank you very much for your kind words, I always appreciate hearing from people who find AlbumEasy useful.

@apastuszak
I am using the Stanley Gibbons RBL-140 pages along with the SG Sandringham Binder. The pages, binder and slipcase are really very nice.
They are not particularly cheap, especially in comparison to office products, but are far more affordable than similar offerings from Lighthouse, Safe etc. Unfortunately, I also had to contend with the cost of shipping from the UK to Canada - but it only took two or three days to get here.

SG also offer a more expensive Kensington Binder and slipcase that will hold the RBL-140 pages.

The pages are 248 x 283mm, but I bought a barely used Epson WF-7210 printer for $50 off of Craigslist which does a really great job but it motors through ink.
