Hi Family,
I just want to vent today. I've been accumulating "Mystic Points for quite some time now. Since I plan to end my USA collection at 12/31/2019, I thought I would use some of these points to purchase the 2018 supplement along with the definitive and commemorative stamps that go along with it. I figured I have enough for the 2018 and 2019 years
Wrong!
They tell me that the points are for supplies only. Not stamps; not shipping. Supplies period. So I'm bummed out,
Thanks for Listening, Jack Kelley

I know, Rod. That's what I thought too. But they told me it was for selected stamps only, and she was very emphatic that the stamps I was looking for were not qualified for point payment.

I spend any bonus points I have on supplies. My experience is that they sell stamps using them only after attaching a handling fee, which can be as much as you'd expect to pay elsewhere for the stamp. What's the point? |

"They tell me that the points are for supplies only. Not stamps . . . ."
"But they told me it was for selected stamps only . . . ."
Your complaint keeps changing. Just use the points to buy the supplies you need. I don't see the problem . . . ?

That is what I call Mystical! Oh you can buy stamps, oh wait, only certain stamps! They forgot to mention that when they did the main page. It appears you get points at the 10% rate on purchase, but redeem them for stamps at around the 1% rate. Buy $55 of stuff and maybe get about a 55c stamp. What a bargain.
Better to use your no fee credit card and get a 2% or better cash back and your ahead. |

Hopefully this link works; it illustrates what I'd posted earlier. Check out the prices on these bonus stamps: https://www.mysticstamp.com/Rewards/It appears you spend your bonus points plus cash for something supposed to be a benefit for repeating customers; in most cases your charge exceeds what you could get them for elsewhere? Who are they kidding? I use their points to buy supplies. Using them for stamp purchases in this system makes no sense. |

People, you need to learn to read. Mystic's offer specifically states as follows: "We've made a wide selection of great stamps and collecting supplies available for FREE through Mystic Rewards. You can also use your reward points to SAVE on select special offers. This way you can use some of your shares to get those items at a lower price. Click here to sign in and check your balance – you might have more Points than you think!
We're always adding new coins and supplies to Mystic Rewards, so be sure to check back often!"
Mystic's offer is specific to a "...a wide selection of great stamps and collecting supplies..." No where in the ad does it state the word or phrase "ALL stamps and supplies." The problem here is "reading comprehension"...this is your problem -- this is not Mystic's fault!~ |

Perhaps Hal. But I still feel cheated. Others may feel the Mystic's ad is misleading as well.

I get onto my wife all the time about this subject. What she reads, and what her mind interprets are 2 different things. The add states "WIDE SELECTION" & "SELECT SPECIALS". They used those terms for a reason and it really isn't misleading. |

I think Mystic is a great promoter of the hobby, especially for beginners. They offer a free catalog which provides useful information in general about US issues as well as a free compilation of Scott numbers with pictures. They also offer the basic supplies and their Heirloom albums in my opinion are the best value, dollar for dollar for US stamps. However, I would not be using them as a source of stamps themselves since those obtainable by points are flawed as advertised and their prices for US stamps in my opinion are too hIgh. |

I have some Mystic Rewards and encountered some restrictions in the past. I was going to order the 2018 Heirloom supplement back when it came out. I did not order it immediately since it could not be ordered with points so was going to bundle it with future order. Now I see you can order with points so not sure if I missed something.
As for Mystic's business, if they reduced prices one would wonder how much sales/revenue would increase. |
