321 On Cover Before Actual Issue Date

Look at this cover. The issue date of a genuine 321 2/18/1908. This cover is postmarked in 1907 before the stamp in a horizontal format before even issued. It seems weird that someone would fake this coil before they were actually issued. OR In my opinion was a 319 taken off the cover and then altered and put back on the cover long time ago to try to deceive a collector long time ago. Note the old "coil"
and "net $75.00" pencil markings. If you look very closely you can see minute traces of perf holes in the upper right corner. Looks like the fakers were at work long long time ago. Any other opinions ?

Looks like a booklet single to me. Check it against a known sheet stamp. The design area on booklet singles is slightly wider and shorter than on the sheet stamps.

with the uneven margin on the right, wouldn't one almost presume the right side trimmed, the booklet 319g would have a more even/cleaner right w/perfs on the left border?? The cancel appears to tag the stamp to the cover??. So it could be a left side middle booklet item or sheet left end row, with right trimmed. I can't see this as being a coil, postmarked prior to coil issue date or a fake, just not correctly identified because of the lacking information on the design style itself, issued initially as sheet & booklet, & about a year later in a coil format. jmho
