These are receipts from purchases made in the late 1980's that go with stamps in the upcoming Harmer International auction. A wee bit pricey?

I think the apex was actually 1979-1980. The stamp market crashed 1981-82.

The large increase in stamp price in this period was due to inflation at the time. First, the inflation itself bloated the numbers. Second, investors were scrambling for places to put their money; all collectibles saw huge valuation increases in this period.
