Hello

I got these stamps offered to me for $100, my question is are they really worth it? The PSS database says $0.15 for a stamp of this type. Are the coils worth that much more?

Regards

Nice coil precanels. Would look good on a page in many collections.

As to value I use 1/10 of catalog as my starting point (for common stamps). Under only a quick perusal, the 4 and 10 cent coils would elicit a bid from me of $0.07 (each), the others not so much, maybe $0.02?

As precancels, I'd offer a tad more than 1/10 catalog. If you surf the net at your fav bay, you will find a regularly appearing offer for 10,000 quality precancels for approx. $250.

I enjoy scoring good buys, but it seems your seller is looking for a buyer that would put a really wide smile on P.T. Barnum's face.

Good luck.

Yes, you are probably right about this. I will offer him $10 just to be nice.

That precancel type is specifically designed for coils. The stamps you show are exactly what one would expect to find. Unless there is a rare stamp/cancel combination that I am unaware of, I see about a $2 group here at most.
