Trouble With Stuck Stamps

Hi folks,

I have some stamps that are in a small stockbook that have become stuck to the page or to other stamps in rows above them. I suspect the book was exposed to some very warm storage at one time. Some of these I am able to tease apart with tweezers. Others are too stuck. Here is an example of one of the pages. The 6 pfg stamps is stuck to the 42+108 pfg stamp surround.

In the second example, the stamp in then 3rd row is stuck to both the black page and the poly strip of the row above. Is soaking the best approach to lifting these stamps?

Occasionally freezing will allow you to 'snap' them apart. But often soaking them is the only way to free them without damaging the stamps.

I hadn't heard of that method. I googled it and was lead right back to this forum:)
I will take all of my loose stamps out of the book, cut out the affected pages out, and use TinMan's post from 2013 as guidance.

The freezer worked pretty good. I will have to leave it a little longer next time. I lost a little bit of the glue on the top stamp but there is not much value in that. This next one will give me a real headache (image below). Someone before me tried to peel it and tore some of the perforations. I don't know how that is going to affect the value. I will try a couple more commons before attempting this. This Hitler Souvenir Sheet is stuck to the book.

Do you still have the link that ou found your going to use? I have the same thing happen once in a while.

How did the souvenir sheet come out? Or should I say come off? I have some stuck together and hope to try the method mentioned when I find them again. Mine are the president sheets Ameripex issues.

@ dwwjr56 - I have not tackled it yet. I have been putting it off until I get everything out of old albums. I have come across many stamps that were stuck in albums. I have been successful in most cases by using a teaspoon and carefully rubbing the stamp or the back of the album page. Those that would not loosen I cut out of the album and set aside for soaking.I found a few more of those souvenir sheets in a box of full sheet stamps that I looked through. They all were separated using plastic wrap. This was done back in the 50's - 60's. They look in excellent shape. I have to start looking for some old Scott or Michel books to help me identify the European stamps.
