Hello everyone I'm new to this forum (but not new to stamps) just thought I'd start by sharing info on mounting stamps. I know this is a well covered subject but to my knowledge I've not read any posts that shows my inexpensive way of keeping/mounting stamps.
Many collectors will not entertain the idea of using stamp hinges even on less valuable stamps because if not applied correctly will damage the stamp and devalue it. The alternative is to have bulky stamp mounts but these don't sit well in old albums or even look attractive at all, others may keep there stamps in "Stock Books" etc again they just don't look attractive presented that way.
My solution is very simple and cheap. Use "post it Notes" A low-tack pressure-sensitive adhesive allows the notes to be easily attached, removed without leaving residue. Just fold over the note paper where the adhesive ends and cut and make your own stamp hinges out of the sticky part.."simples" now you can present your lovely stamps the way they were meant to be presented...ie: in a nice stamp album..and save yourself some money as well
