And there were a brand called, "Western" hinges and they had a bluish tint. When I come across them they peel easy.

I had found the Rapkin Peerless flat hinges to be one of the most peelable hinges. Their key ingredient was gum arabic on one side. At some point it became difficult to find both gum arabic and good glassine paper by their manufacturer. Thus, they have not been made in some time. These hinges look like them.
