All,

Just annotating some entries from my calendar collection and trying to ID this town cancel. "..ONFA(L?).." Searched Jim Fortes site for POs and several end in "..falls" but not sure this one lines up. Another set of eyes will likely help.

Thanks in advance.

Using the Stamp Smarter ZipCode finder tool (which supports a lookup using only a partial town name); it returns these possibilities for 'on fal'

With the wide, then narrow letter spacing, perhaps the date slugs are upside down and this is "FA ... / N.C."

My thanks to both of you. I totally missed the spacing gap. Don I totally forgot about the zip code look up on Stamp Smarter. Great tool. I have used Jims' for some time and now have another option to check. I may never know but the upside down slug idea opens a whole new set of opportunities.

The letter after the FA looks like either a T or an upside down L

If you have photoshop or similar software, you can convert it to black and white and turn down the color channel for the main stamp color (in this case, red) to see the cancel really clearly.
