I am looking for a vf/xf US 208 in mint condition. It must be a sound fault free copy. Certificate is a must as well. Graded and/or jumbo margins are desired but all will be considered. If you have one that you are willing to part with send me a message with a scan or two, cert details and the price desired.

Thank You

Several problems here. The stamp is not a 208 but rather a 208a. It has no cert. it is not even close to VF/XF.

I am not bargain hunting on ebay. I am looking for real quality stamps.

Serious replies only please.

Thank you.

Apologies if this ends up being a duplicate reply, something went wrong when I tried to respond before...

Have you tried Mystic Stamp? They're prices may not be the lowest, but they usually have a ton of different conditions of stamps like this. You may have to give them a call if you want to know if they have exactly what you're looking for, but if you don't have any luck from individuals here, you might consider them as a last resort.

I am looking for quality. Think a Siegel auction type stamp. The 208 has turned out to be a very difficult stamp to find in a high grade. It does not turn up at auction much and the better dealers do not regularly have one at least based upon my hunt. Mystic is obscenely overpriced and the centering would be a joke. That goes for most of their stamps. There are some on ebay that are mediocre and again grossly overpriced by the usual suspects.

To clarify my post here I am looking for a private owner that has what I am looking for.

Bill Lang has two up on ebay right now - two high-grade mint 208s - one with a PF cert and the other with a PSAG cert.

I don't think that Bill Lang's 208s are terribly overpriced. SMQ has grade 85 at $950 and 90 at $1350. The stamps he has up are $900 and $1395. He takes best offers, and in my experience, he takes reasonable offers.
