This is a North Amherst Massachusetts 26.5mm CDS. I'm looking for the time frame this CDS was in use--particularly if it was in use into the mid 1870s. Any assistance would be appriciated.

I don't have specific information about the historical uses of certain styles or devices in North Amherst but I would consider a mid 1870's use of that CDS unlikely. That style came into use around 1860 and I don't see many uses even on the 1861's (that I can recall).

Thanks Winston. I'm thinking the shade on the 65 is a later use, maybe after 1865. If I've got the receiving person right, he'd only be about 13-14 in 1865, so I was thinking that this CDS may have been used closer to 1870.
