Set of four, one stamp depicts Racka (Ovis aries), a breed of sheep known for its spiral-shaped horns.

On September 29, 1936 Italy issued a set of eight stamps commemorating the birth bimellinium of Roman poet Horace (Quintus Horatius Flaccus). The low value 10c stamp (Sc #359) of the set depicts a flock of sheep.

Here is the 900 lira stamp (Mi #2611) from Italy's November 28, 1998 Christmas set of two.

Somalia - Italian stamp overprinted for use in Italian Somalia - 1930

Issued as a part of a set commemorating the 2000th anniversary of the Roman poet Virgil's Birth and was overprinted for use in Somalia. The stamp depicting "The hearth" and the inscription on the stamp is taken from one of Virgil's poems and it reads:

"HIC FOCVS ET TAEDAE PINGVES HIC PLVRIMVS IGNIS" ("Here we have a hearth and pitchy brands; here a good fire ever blazing").

A merino sheep is depicted on the 30 ct stamp of Bulgaria's 1991 "Farm Animals" set of eleven values.

Several horses and a herd of sheep are shown on this 1987, 16c stamp of Transkei. Inscription at the bottom of the stamp reads, "morning pasture".

This 1990, 200 CFA franc Christmas stamp (Sc #679) of Benin shows a painting of the Holy Family with a lamb.

On November 6, 1997 Canada issued this 45c stamp (Sc #1672) to commemorate the 75th Ann iversary of Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto.

The mosaic depicted on this 2 drachma, Greek Christmas stamp (Sc #1002) of December 5, 1970 dates from the 11th century. It is from the Monastery of Hosios Loukas in Boetia.

On August 11, 1983 Ireland issued a set of five different "Anniversaries" stamps. This 22 p stamp (Hib #C360, Sc #569) from the set commemorates the 34th anniversary of the founding of the Irish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in 1949. A sheep is among the four animals shown on the stamp.

Finland issued a set of three, semi-postal, anti-tuberculosis stamps featuring paintings by three different artists on September 12, 1973. The stamps commemorate the birth centenaries of the three artists. The low value o.30 + 0.05 mk value (Facit #733) of this set depicts Girl with Lamb by Hugo Simberg (1873-1944).
