This is in a glassine numbered "71". But I cannot figure out the country. I spent at least 15 minutes and am certain one of you guys will have it in 15 seconds. Glad I am not one of the guys at the bottom with rocks raining down on me.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Paul

I suspect a Serbian or Bukgarian Cinderella commemorating the wars of independence against the Ottoman Empire.

As Calstamp advised, battle of Shipka Pass...
When I was beginning, they confused me also, I began to recognise Bulgaria
by recalling the cyrillic began with "6Z" or what it looked like to me.

An easy way to spot Bulgarian stamps, aside from the Cyrillic, is the currency -- stotinki, abbreviated CT., for the lower values.

That's what I spotted first on your stamp, before seeing that it had Bulgaria in Cyrillic.

I know this type of post has been made before but - it is something that cannot be said too much! The expertise and willingness to share from the moderators to the membership is deeply appreciated. I still feel very much like a newbie compared to the dedication from members who have 10's of thousands of responses.
To ALL those who contribute - THANK YOU!!!!
