I can't figure out the Scott # on this 1c Franklin due to the cut of perforations. Anyone have any ideas what the # actually is? Or why this seemingly unused stamp is odd to me?
Hello Boowaboy, Welcome to the Stamp Community Forum!
This stamp is a from a coil strip of the Scott 597, which is perforated 10 on the vertical sides, and imperforate on the top and bottom sides. It appears to have been separated from the coils strip by a vending machine cutter, so appears to be without perforations on the left side of the stamp and has nearly complete perforation holes on the right side due to placement of the cutting edge.
Thank you so much for the clarification. I wasn't certain if it was coil that was cut on one side or an error. I see more clearly now that you meantion.
