Hi all, I'm Kit. I live in Pennsylvania and I had some old postcards given to me by an old friend. I'm not sure if he thought the cards were worth more, or the stamps, but either way, he wanted me to have them and to sell them. I will find the appropriate forum and upload some pictures. I hope I can get some help as I tried to find them in the Scott Catalogue at the local library, but had a hard time figuring out the differences.
Rob from Wisconsin. Apparently I forgot to introduce myself! I am a returning collector, started in the 1950s as a kid and had the good fortune of attending a stamp club hosted by a local collector/dealer who taught me a lot (Doris Bonine in Bremerton, WA). I worked for her doing increasingly complicated cataloguing and built my kid collection with earned credit. College in 1971, then life. I've lived all over the world, largely as a result of my profession (Professor of German & Dutch) and have stuck away stamps purchased but never really sorted systematically. With my impending retirement I dragged out my stamps again and it was like I never left. Interests are Great Britain and Commonwealth, Benelux and Colonies, Germany & colonies, Switzerland, Austria, all before 1970 with special interest in pre-1940. I like fools' errands so I am currently assembling a collection of MOG Great Britain penny red plates, 45 in the door, a *lot* to go (no 77 just yet). I enjoy reading the forum and admire the deep knowledge of so many contributors!
