The left is Bavaria. The Turkey is upside down. The crescent open upward is a surefire Turkey spotting feature.

Thank you all for the info, and my collection is not so
advanced that I want to pitch a 150 yr old stamp....
I only play with US stuff anymore, other points around
the world are interesting, but ....
