Hello all Stamp masters, is the following an error? Im specifically thinking of the left side of the circle that is interrupted and shifted, the left "2" where the upper left part seems elongated, and the left border that has a curve at which point it is thicker than elsewhere. Could it just be a scanning error?

The Michel Handbuch-Katalog for the plate flaws of these stamps (Mi. 21 and 29) does not list it, so it is most likely a printing error involving this one stamp. The wrinkle in the paper adds support to this conclusion. |

@bookbndrbob Thanks for the information. Would such a printing error raise its value? |

It might make the stamp more appealing to someone who specializes in these issues, in my opinion. If it were mine, I would carefully soak off the hinge remnant so that a potential buyer could see the back of the stamp clearly.
Small printing irregularities are not unusual with the "Brustschilde' stamps, but this one may "catch the eye" of someone. |

I noticed that the left border line is curved my be that is the reason for thinking of print error |

@billsey The repaired tear idea also occured to me because of how the border is shifted left in the same way that part of the "2" is shifted left and a bit down. |

Consider this: On the back of the stampt you see this indentation that is on the top that is visible on the front too. Then you also sea a line or crease going further down diagonally right at the point where the supposed error on the fron occurs. I think for this reason I would also lean more heavily to the idea that this stamp was repaired. |

Because of the thickened and broken circular line, I believe the stamp paper was damaged before the printing took place. I would agree that it is probably repaired. |

If it is a repaired stamp it's not very convincing;but maybe. It's a common stamp. On the other hand the cancel looks un- touched. It could be the paper overlaped or was pulled just after being printed. The stamp was then perfed correctly. An example of an unfolded stamp. This is an extreme case. |
