Good afternoon, I have been trying to identify the marking on the back of this cover. I'm just guessing that it's a roller cancel? I'm obviously looking in the wrong places online trying to identify things like this and it gets a bit frustrating at times. So I always post here because I know someone will know what it is.
Thanks again for your assistance
David

Machine cancels:These can be compared to slogan cancels,or for announcements of different things going on.Political,commercial...Yours are very blotchy.

The glue holding the envelope together - as you can see from your scan of the back - has absorbed moisture from the air, and reacted with elements in the glue, in the paper, and in the atmosphere, resulting in an ugly spreading stain which you cannot, to my knowledge, treat or reverse.

But you can insert a layer or two of lignin-free paper inside the cover to stop further damage to the front.

Cheers,

/s/ ikeyPikey
