In my USA catalog, Scott has little information about the location of watermarks on stamps. In many countries, the different location of a watermark greatly affects the value of stamps. Is it similar with US stamps? I have a nice block of 4 Cuba overprint 1 cent with watermark Inverted Reversed. What do you think about these stamps?
US collectors don't generally distinguish watermark orientation. Just being able to see a SL or DL watermark is a small victory.
If I recall correctly there are two types of the DL watermark having to do with the sequencing of the letters. I don't have a Scott's in front of me but both diagrams should be illustrated.
Thanks for posting the watermark link. I had never carefully read through all of it. It is very informative, as is everything else on the stamp smarter site.
