I understand concerns about high denomination stamps. With that said, philately has no rules and on one should feel obliged to collect stamps they don't like.
While the thread is a year old, the key point - can't pay for packages with postage stamps - is wrong. Postage stamps on parcels are allowed, BUT you have to have take the packages to a clerk and have them cancelled. I have had two packages returned to me because I did not insist on the clerk cancelling the packages. Both came back with a sticker saying something like, "Unsure parcel was seen by clerk at sending post office".
