Sorry, but can anyone help with this stamp? I'm thinking it is a Scott Stamp 179, but it seems to missing perforations on the sides. Thoughts, is this a fake, some type of straddle or a altered stamp to look like an imperf?

Left margin is genuine, the right margin is trimmed.

This looks like an interpane margin copy. The mark in the margin at the very top was put there between panes to show where the two panes should be cut apart. They missed the mark a little in your favor. The right margin is probably simply trimmed. The sheet may well have been perforated way to the right. The panes were cut where they were, independent of the perfs. Just so happens it was cut to the left of the mark, so you had the left column of this pane with a bunch of very wide stamps - all straight edge at left. Someone may have, unfortunately, attempted to make one of these extra-wide stamps appear to be imperforate horizontally by trimming the right perfs. OR... it could ACTUALLY be imperforate horizontally, but, although it is quite wide, it is not wide enough to say with certainty that it is imperforate horizontally, so it is (by default) considered to be trimmed at right.

I see blind perfs at the upper left (pareidolia?). Then at best, it's not an error but a perforation freak trimmed at right.

EDIT: Apologies to Saab99 and all, I meant the upper part of the right side, on level from the shield point to the scroll.

I believe this is the blind perf referred to above.
