Where was this canceled? I can read "...rtafaa" but none of my sources list a place with that ending. By the way, is this a CTO or a real postal use? My thanks in advance for your help.
It is postally used. The Sultanate of Oman was and is generally recognized as the existing government and a legitimate stamp issuer. The State of Oman issues were created by a rebel group with the "help" of the usual stamp printers. State of Oman stamps are bogus and seem to be CTO only (and FDC).
So... can we assume the dots react differently/are in different colors than the phosphor stamp tagging? And couldn't foreign mail coming into (say) Britain potentially have conflicting phosphor tagging?
HB, I am ignorant of any discrete knowledge of Phosphor dots, (and diamonds) other than "testing" of tagging machines. I'll post what I have in my records, and let the intelligentsia comment.
