Hi KGV Collector and others.
I have done some research using the ACSC and this stamp is Single Watermark, (shown elsewhere on this thread) is Single Watermark, Probably Electro 7, and either 63, 65, or 66 (7)g, and is a constant variety. The others that I have so far researched I will also list on this thread.
You are correct KGV, once you start looking at the ACSC it begins to make sense.
Unfortunately there the catalogue has not been updated since 1997, so it is well over due for a revision.
Regards
Horamakhet

I have posted this one because I have two copies and they both have this pink colouring to the paper.

This one is a single watermark, type 2, probably Die I, 118 119 or 120g.

The other fourpence halfpenny purple, and the two penny orange, I have not found as yet, so back to the ACSC

I really love that catalogue now, thanks for encouraging me KGV, I am excited about checking out all the penny Halfpenny chocolates and browns of this series

Regards

Horamakhet

Hi Horamkhet.

The pink on the normal white area is probably the leeching of aniline ink.

Here is another 2p Brown (Scott 29) that has an odd "S". Is this a known variety?

Stamp in question, Scott 29

A "normal" S (note the line in the "A", though)

The special S in the stamp in question

A few oddities with this 1 1/2 p (Scott 26)

A break in the inner circle near the Kangaroo's paw

A line behind the King's head

A line below the right numeral

Is this a known variety?

Hi Partime.

The 2d brown "S" in Australia I do not think it is a flaw.

Aussie Al is the 11/2d red person for those flyspecks.

You're correct. A closer examination shows the 2d is just the cancellation.

This is a great thread and even though I have only
around 20 KGVs I find these stamps fascinating.
I love same design long stretched out definitive series
and the crude typography printing adds to their mystique.

If not for the internet I wouldnt have paid any attention
to these at all.

Here is a Scott 70, red brown, Die I,Wmk 203 small crown & A Multiple

Notice the beat up 2, the pregnant O and the slanted base of the T

This one with the dots on the neck looks like a vampire bite.

Uh-oh. You said Vampire Bite. Someone else will be chiming in with their opinion very soon.

Nice example, though. I will have to look for the oddly slanted "T".

A lot of pages to go through, but I think I found another variety. This time, a 1/2 d Orange, Scott 20. We have an odd mark on the right border.

Can our Aussie friends confirm this as a known variety? Thanks in advance.
