Interesting Discussion On German Material. My Experiences

In reference to the aforementioned dealer. I have purchased a few lots from this seller, All arrived quickly and as described. If he has a forger on staff, I'd like to know. Is there that much bogus material being offered? The overprint dies/forms are spot on. Not saying this dealer is legit but you never know what you will get. I have marked my purchases "forgeries" and will let my legacy determine their authenticity. Cheers! Wolf-==-

Why are you buying highly suspect forgeries? Study? Reference? Filling spaces?

Deep down, we want to allow for that tiny possibility that these stamps are legit and so the allure of getting a great deal such as a $10000 c.v. stamp for 12 bucks is too irresistible.

Yep, Redwood, I bought the aforementioned stamps before I came to the understanding that they were from a shill dealer. I never checked through his rating/feedback (big mistake) before my excitement got the best of me. I'm not out that much, lessons learned! I will never purchase from that dealer again. I suspect his shills bid the stamps up till he gets what he thinks is a reasonable (in his opinion) offer for the lot. Good space fillers at this point. Cheers! Wolf-==-

For me it is not so much about his feedback (feedback is pretty much worthless anyway) but rather it is about the question of why anybody would be auctioning 10,000 Euro cv stamps by the bushel with a 99 cents start?

Yep, rodgcam, I absolutely agree. That raises a lot of red flags. Here is an ebay dealer from the UK that has some reasonable German material, not of significant CV but may be of some use. pnee9469 (6429). I have been real happy with my purchases. Wolf-==-
