Newest Member From Texas, Gifted Thousands Of Stamps

Hello,
I am new to this forum and to stamp collecting. I was recently gifted thousands of stamps from the US and around the world. I would love help getting started and advice on some of the older stamps that I have found. Additionally, I would love advice on how best to preserve my stamps particularly those older than 1950s.

Here is a snapshot of some of my finds - they had been thrown in a bag :( do some of these seem of value? and what type of album or book do you recommend I use to store. Thank you Mrita75 the newbie.

Nothing of high value, but a good start on the new hobby. frankly, the vast majority of stamps are worth pennies because they printed literally millions and millions of them. There are some less common, or even rare, varieties but the odds of stumbling across one of them is smaller than winning a mega lottery. That's said, stamp collectors often love the 'hunt' and will invest a lot of time in learning how to ID the varieties.

A good place to start is this forum, plenty of knowledgeable folks and a wealth of history you can search on to find answers. The Stamp Smarter website, http://stampsmarter.com/ has over 2800 webpages of information including resources like "How To", Illustrated Glossary and tons of help on IDing stamps.

Yes - I have so many that I need to identify, I have a nice album with 1980s Mint stamps from China (very beautiful) - I believe that I will probably ask about some of those - I also found some older stamps from China (attached) but am not sure what year they are from. It is overwhelming having so many stamps! - but it is definitely fun exploring, leaning about history as I look up so many of the stamps. Thank you for the reply and welcome.
