New To Stamp Collecting So Little Help Is Appreciated!

I am looking at George Washington 3 cent, but I can not find anything about how to determine the Scott # for this particular stamp. I have scanned the image in 600 DPI. There is so many varieties that I tried looking into it all but its confusing me.

I am also wondering if the stamp is a fake? because the paper almost feels too smooth. The stamp is not yellow at the back either for its age.

Any suggestion? My stamp is covering this area with the cancelled symbol.

Actually the shading on the 3-cent secret mark is probably heavy enough to be noticed if it were present. I personally don't see it. Moreover, the heavy shading would basically wipe out the white outline on the bottom side of the upper ribbon tail. I think I see at least a hint of the white on both sides of the ribbon on your stamp.
So assume there is no secret mark.

When you're mystified about which variety you have, it's generally safest to assume that it's the most common variety. Why? Because they're "most common" and therefore most likely to end up in your hands. Other varities with 'secret marks,' grills, and so forth, you may never come across. Yours is apparently a common 19th century green 3¢ U.S. stamp with a torn/missing right top corner and a second unfortunate alteration, that straight edge on the left side. To most collectors, those would lower the value. But the very neat bullseye cancel is appealing.
