Would like an English version of a catalog for German stamps so prices are in US dollars. I do not want to go as far as a specialized catalog, but would need be comprehensive of everything thru about the 1980's. (German States, Empire, Third Reich, West Germany, DDR, German Occupation, Berlin, German Colonies, Offices Abroad, ect. I guess I am thinking Scott, but don't want other countries. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!!

Your best bet would be a Michel. Try ebay or Abebooks first for an older ( cheaper ) one

Michel is always in German, right? And wouldn't the prices be in Euros?

You can look up the catalog on the internet and in doing so find that there is an English edition.
The dollar and the euro are almost the same

Gibbons produces a Germany catalogue. Working out £ to $ is pretty easy.

There are sellers on ebay who buy new Scott catalogs, dismantle them and sell only the pages for a specific country. If you search for "Scott catalog Germany pages," you should get some results. By the way, I use the Michel specialized catalog for Germany and don't find the language barrier to be much of an issue. I much prefer the Michel as it is much more comprehensive than Scott. It also covers all of the German colonies, which are scattered throughout several volumes of the Scott catalogs. As far as values are concerned, just use Google to covert the Euros into US dollars and you will get the value according to the current exchange rate.

In 2016 there was an English edition of the Michel Germany specialised catalog. Should be available somewhere.

And for the catalog prices ... as the usual market prices tend to be around only 10 percent of the Michel prices, you could take the Euros and just think they are USD. The difference is not that big anyway, and you'll never get the price that's written in the catalog ... except for real expensive pieces.
