Can anyone point me to a listing of British Empire Farthing stamps. These are 1/4d stamps.

All I can think of is to search the Stanley Gibbons catalogs. I believe the farthing was discontinued around 1960. The lowest coin when I was there was the haypenny.

22crows:

I have done searches on ebay and I'm going through the Scott Catalogs. Perhaps there is a group of collectors who collect the farthing stamps. Perhaps a FARTHING STUDY GROUP or something of that nature

A handful of Heligoland stamps were denominated in farthings (and pfennigs), including 1 farthing.

I checked my KGV collection and can add Cyprus and Leeward Islands to our list.

There appear to be at least 9 from Barbados, and at least 3 from Leeward Islands. I could not see any from Cyprus.

The Cyprus are denominated in piastres, but are the equivalent of a 1/4d

I noticed the quarter piastre stamps, but I don't see why they should be included in a farthing count.

Adding: There were 9 piastres to the shilling (not 12), so the quarter piastre was not equivalent to the farthing.

Same with Cayman Islands, there are numerous half cent stamps,
but I did not consider them Farthing counts.

I am presuming farthing values were for internal local documents etc.
Malta ¼d stamps were used for internal newspapers.
There are Farthing indicia on Newspaper wrappers. (7 in total)
