India Capital Of Asoka Stamps Question

So, somewhere I had seen on a blog, forum site a large star like the one I posted. But for the life of me I can't find the site again - thought I bookmarked it, but...... Anyhow, here are some descriptions I saw in the SG catalogue which lists sizes and what I think to be a desc. of " in sheet". I also sent an email to a dealer asking if it's possible to see only a star on the whole and not INDIA GOVT. Will update as I learn more.

Have been traveling, but before I left I sent 3 emails - 1 to Stamps Inc, Amos Media and to Deepak Jaiswal (actually forwarded by his brother - Sandeep from Stamps Inc) at stampbay.com. Deepak who specializes in British India stamps did not recognize the watermark and neither did Stamps inc and I got no reply from Amos Media. Odd that 2 India specialists did not have a comment or recognize it??? Oh well.

Philately begins where the catalogue ends.
Non response is fairly common.
That would encourage members to appreciate what we have in this forum,
(mostly) instant response and ID.

Stay positive, let it be, and some time in the future we will be visited by an India specialist, and we can continue the query then.

Righto - not giving up yet. I know I saw a discussion on a board about this watermark. Going to give it a little rest and move on for now. Tks

For the fun of it, I asked for some help from APS research person and she suggested the star may be from Wmk 360 and that bc it takes up the whole back of the stamp, GOVT INDIA is not able to fit. Seems reasonable. Yes?

I see you have some experience with the gov. too?? Having married a former federal govt employee, I've seen my share of acronyms. Will stick to words from now on. Reminds me of when I started going to an automotive chat board and the use of all the abbreviations - I had to spend so much time looking them up, it drove me nuts. How soon I forget....

Part of the question I had sent to Amos publishing was in fact whether the star could take up the whole back without seeing GOVT INDIA. Still no reply. But, im going with that.
