Hi Robert - Happy New Year
The great debate - I think it is a poorly colour rendered Lynx, mostly from the arched back.

I don't know.. I see the arched back combined with a fat bobcat belly and tabby ears. |

It is obviously the rare boblynx. Usually hangs out with the Sasquatch. |

Interestingly, if you google translate Le loup-cervier it come out as "The Wolf"!
And both scientific names start with Lynx! |

Happy new year all!
Robert, it has the shorter tail alright like a lynx, but the body with hanging belliy is definately a well fed bobcat, and all the rest of the description and color are definately that of the bobcat. With that devilish sheepish grin, he wasn't foolin around when maybe he had the lynx for a meal.
Mike

' Well-spotted, Wert.
It is always possible to be overly influenced by an individual photo or a sloppy drawing, but I think you're right that, on balance, it is closer to a Bobcat. With the tail of a Lynx.
Cheers,
