The current Winter Olympics are the third occasion where the Games have been held in Canada (the other two were the Summer Games in Montreal and the Winter Games in Calgary). Up to now, Canada has never won a gold medal on Canadian soil.
Up until yesterday, that is, when Alexandre Bilodeau won gold in the mens Moguls.
This morning, we get the word that
Canada Post will issue a stamp tomorrow in commemoration of this event.

It all must have been very hush-hush with the stamps printed in secret and shipped to every office in the country in secret under a proviso not to sell them until express orders were given. It is likely that had there been no gold medal won by a Canadian they would have all been sent back to Ottawa and destroyed.
