rod222. Thanks for the comment. My wife corrected me and said this is cross stitch needlepoint. NOT crocheted.

Thanks for "up righting" the original picture too. I fought trying to get it that way and gave up.

Both "stamps" are mounted behind a professionally bevel-cut mat. Here are some close ups. The Mother "stamp" was started with a light blue background. And the needlepoint was added. That's why the "stamp" is so large with no defined edge like the Father "stamp".

I get Needlepoint and Cross stitch, however I understand them as two different disciplines.
Your lovely examples do not seem to be "cross stitched"
I need confirmation, or where I may be misunderstanding.
I am assuming to see an X as two passes of the needle to make one square?

You are correct. They are different. My wife looked up the specific definitions of cross stitch and needlepoint just now. The artwork I posted is cross stitch. A form of embroidery. In some cases the lines made are not "crossed" with another thread.

Thanks for the clarification. My wife and I are always willing to learn correctly what we think we know.
