Hi,can enybody tell me what is this??beacouse looks exactly like the 295C that shows in the electronic catalogue,please,somebody tall me that beacouse is cancel is a 205,but the color says somethig diferent,culd not be one of the thausen goin araund the world???the expert base themselfes only in the ones registered?and if there is a couple hundres going around the world?thank for your help

205C was a special printing, correct? I doubt a special printed stamp would be so badly centered. Weren't they issued without gum? If so that would make a used one unlikely, wouldn't it?

"Brown" has a certain amount of unlisted variation, as well as the shades that are listed. We are talking about ink that was mixed in the 1880's by hand; yesterday's leftovers were added to today's mixture on a regular basis. The idea of color quality control was a pipe dream; I doubt anyone even though about it. |

It looks like a badly faded Essay, Scott 184-E5.e in violet. Catalog value is $15 in sound condition with bright color and strong imprint. Your copy has little monetary value unfortunately. |
