Hello everyone
Got a real oddity here...Scott 168 "King George V – Arch/leaf issue"

Look at the cancel on this stamp – July.12.1920
The Scott 168 was issued November. 5.1930

Now I am struggling with the cancel..Maybe a few things happened...

1 – When the stamp was cancelled, the postmaster/worker did not change the old date.
2 – When the stamp was used, maybe the postmaster/worker forgot to change the
year date...But that would still put a cancel approx. 4 months before release date. (possible..?)
3 – It may have been cancelled to do a favor for a friend/stamp collector.

Very hard to understand why this cancel is on this stamp...Any ideas/opinions..??

OR I AM MISSING SOMETHING HERE.
. This may embarrass me if I don't know what I am posting...haha

Robert

Also weird right eye on king...??

Opinion.
First thing is to identify the Postmark "Type".
Looks to me like a slogan meter style?
If so there may be duplication.

Secondly, was there an ability to change dates on the slogan canceller?
if so, merely an error in selecting a date slug.

One needs a Canadian Postmark expert.

Could it be perhaps this style roller?

I still am not 100% convinced.

If the date slugs can be changed by humans then you are bound to get the occasional mistake. I have a few "impossible" dates like this somewhere in my collections.

I do not think you can read much more into this than some one slipped up.
