I was checking a set of stamps to see if they were MNH and these 2 popped out at me. The #833 has a nice set-off and but I'd never seen a gum skip like the one on #834. Is this gum skip considered a fault?
I believe the gum skip is an artifact of how the gum was applied. Similar grooved gum appears on some examples of QE1, QE2 and QE3 from the 1940-1955 period. Perhaps someone has more exact dates and 532 or 533 examples also.
on the 2 dollar stamp the ink from another stamp was stick to the gum, so it's kind of "setoff", while not the same setoff from flat wet printing stamps some time before.
