These belong to a friend who inherited these from his grandfather. The only character I recognized was Gene Autrey.These are the first western themed picture postcards I've seen before.
Nice to see these! I didn't know so many earlier ones were in color/colored.
I also recognized Tim Holt even without the fake signature. He was Fred Dobbs's fellow prospector in The Treasure of Sierra Madre. There might be a Tom Mix or two in there; I can't quite make out the captions on those.
Not to be forgotten...with the glamerous Annie Oakleys and certainly more importantly, the pioneer women who raised families under harsh conditions, and yes, even the 1000s of women who worked in the Bordellos of old, there were females associated with the myth of the American cowboy. This real silk card of 1911 captured some of that allure.
