This is the Memorial for the 4000 officers & men of the Indian Forces killed in the Palestine and Sinai campaigns of World War 1. Built in 1926 at Port Tewfik [now Port Suez] it was destroyed by retreating Egyptian forces during the Arab-Israeli conflict of 1967 and later rebuilt at Heliopolis War Cemetery in Cairo, Egypt.
