Is illustration D5 in Scott correct? I have several similar stamps except the top label says republique francaise instead of postes francasis.

Perhaps you could show your stamps and the illustration - Scott numbers don't mean anything to many of us.
Edit - now seen Don's picture. I wonder where Scott obtained that stamp? |

Yes - it's the sort of thing that the Pétain government issued - except that, in this case, it didn't! |

I could be mistaken, but I believe the "Republique Francaises" stamps are the correct postage due issue. I think the "Postes Francaises" stamps were issued by the Vichy Government , but never placed on sale in Indochina. This means that the Scott illustration (The Vichy printing) is just wrong. |

I should note here that my Scott catalog is the 2012 edition. My specialized Classic 2016 edition is not a help here because the "Postes" stamp would have come out after 1940. I know Scott has begun listing and pricing the unissued Vichy printings. Does anyone have a current Scott Catalog to confirm this? |

These "stamps" aren't listed in Maury, so I don't know where Scott has unearthed them. |

Scott's probably made the error when they switched from black & white images to color. Have they corrected it yet in the current catalogs? |
