Wow cool picture! It tells a lot of the work place then and now. 7 people in a little office with 3 desks and a large table I think. And an extra chair for a customer! I think the back wall has a fireplace?

I think either a framed mirror, or a framed collection of stamps/covers.
Maybe a fireplace below that, but decoration only, would not have been used.
Too dangerous.

The man sitting at the desk in the foreground reminds me of actor Nigel Bruce, who played Dr Watson in the Sherlock Holmes movies made in the 1940's
