I don't have any watermark fluid or ronsons.but tilting it around in the light with a black card I see..something. Looks like the crown and CC? I can see the cc part and some other vague shape. The perforation is 12.5 on the nose. Should the CC read correctly from the front of the stamp? If so the watermark is upside down. But until I can get it into some lighter fluid I won't know for sure.
Here's the stamp.
Thanks for the input in advance.
Greg

Perf 12-1/2 says its Scott 12. And with all the warnings about colors seen in scans and monitors, this certainly looks like the vermilion color and print quality typical of the perf 12-1/2 and later perf 14 stamps.

Yes the Crown CC watermark reads correctly from the front generally. There are Commonwealth stamps where they are flipped the other way around. That's specialist territory above my pay grade but someone better at Bahamas might have the answer for you. Use your watermark fluid as noted.

That's nice centering for the issue and a light cancel as well.

Thanks. I really like this design. One of my favorites. I think vermillion describes the color exactly. I "think" I might have some lighter fluid in the garage. Gonna dig around out there and see if I can find it.

So the watermark finally jumped out at me. it's the corner of a large rectangle, the edge of the watermark design? Does this help or just make it harder to decide what this is. This 1600dpi scan shows it pretty well.
