Hi everyone.

Stamp from Chamba. I have found this in my Collection. Is it
a fake or an unknown variety (not listed in the SG catalog.

Thanks

If you look at the SG listings of Somaliland (contemporary overprints on Indian stamps), a large number of constant varieties are listed but there are an equally large number of unlisted non-constant varieties with variations in the wear and shape of letters. Most of these Edward VII Indian state overprints show similar variation. They are worth collecting but not of any additional value if they aren't listed. See if you can find them in arge multiples as they make nice display items.

I do not have this one listed.
It may be, some nefarious fellow has added an "i" of his own making.
I'd like to see the 1898 reference.

There exists errors of the "i" missing in the watermarked star of Chamba
