German Varieties -Flyspecker Group

Here are two more common plate flaws from the "Farewell" series. These are Michel #s 123 PF I and 123 PF II. PF I is a dot behind the "N" of "BAYERN", and it occurs on positions 40, 85 and 90. Note that the "D" of the "Deutsches" overprint has an elongated streak at the top of the letter. There are Michel-cataloged varieties of the "D", but this is not one of them.

Plate flaw 123 II is a white triangle over the rocks above the "N" of "BAYERN". It occurs on positions 43, 48, 93 and 98.

Here I go back to Nr.278X (Nr.162). Went to my archive and extract a PF IV from another position. In this case Position 15 (Just behind the overprint). As you can see, Position 64-65 are normal.

Here is one from the unwatermarked "Germania" series of 1902. It is Mi 69 PF I, "first 'E' in 'DEUTSCHES' missing (bottom) line." It occurs on positions 35 and 90.

You have position 90, position 35 doesn't have the break at right of the left 3. A classic PLF!

Thanks hornet! I have put notations by these in my early Germany album.

This is a PF on the November 6, 1997 "300th anniversary of the birth of Gerhard Tersteegen" stamp. It is Mi 1961 PF II, "gray spot on the upper right, white leaf". It occurs on field 5, on a part of the print run.

Here is another another modern plate flaw, this one on the 80 pf/.41 euro St. Reinoldi Church definitive of 2001. It is Mi. #2177 PF I, green spot under the roof, left side.

Here is another modern one. This Michel #2007 PF I, from The UNESCO World Heritage Sites set of 1997. Flaw is "black spot on the plant leaf, lower right, field 7, part of the print run".

Two types of green dot. Middle of the 3 and also the 0. Both on different positions depending on type of sheet. The 3 always occuring on 5th vertical row (5 positions). The 0 on five positions.

This one is from the "Castles and Palaces" definitive series of 1977-82. It is the letterpress-printed, 30 pf booklet stamp. Plate flaw is Mi. 914 I PF IV, "third vertical line of tower broken". It occurs on booklet pane # 27 I, field 6.
