The common stamp that's scarce. In 11 years 1 have never found this 10c stamp in any lots I have purchased. There are a few of these "oddities" around there are 2 in the Spain "Franco" series of similar curiosity if memory serves. The Austrian offender: The girl from Tirol

The last couple issues of Linn's have had letters or articles dealing with this issue -- low-denomination, high-print-quantity stamps that are difficult to obtain.

I have a bunch of the Spanish 1.80's. The only problem is I have no idea where they are. Could take weeks to find them. |

I wish I could grab hold of that Linn's I am in another group, and it seemed bizarre on some occaisions, we would discuss a subject, and 4 months later it would pop up in Linn's. Probably just coincidence, or someone taking a topic and running with it. Rev man, thanks, I have the brace, so no need to rummage, unless you would like to offer Steve some |

Rod-
Scott's is full of twenty-centers that I've never seen. That goes double for Scott-unlisted stuff in the slightly-more-offbeat catalogues (except for the twenty-cent part, of course). Granted, many of them had tiny print runs and just happen to suffer from collector ambivalence, so they don't all fit your point as well as your three examples.
Do you need the 3g? Or was that just an illustration of your point?
Collin
(Thanks for still taking time to talk to the little people. Congrats.) |

I have literally piles and piles of German stamps that I can't use lying around, but haven't found an extra 6Pf yet. Only the one in my Davo album. If I do find an extra one... |

After looking through my stuff I've found exactly one 6Pf Heuss, used that is. Plenty of most of the other values though.
Same for the Austrian 3 groschen costume all I have is one MNH.
Neither the Michel Deutschland Katalog nor the Austria Netto Katalog list quantities issued for these definitives. |

A sighting a sighting! Call the producers of In search of ...! Like the grainy, out of focus picture of Nessie (Loch Ness Monster), I present to you Germany SG1106 (1954) 6pf president heuss, et al, in all its glory (Scott705)! The picture proves it exists somewhere in my collection, but I still have to find it. Rod, send me an email with your ship-to information. If there's anything else on that page you're missing, please say so and it's yours. Brian |
