Can't put this one together, probably due to my lack of knowledge of Canadian cancels... Thinking possibly a railway cancel? I can make out what looks to be NOR. PAC. Northern Pacific Winnipeg?

Looks Like a NOR. PAC. RY. Cancel. I can't make out the towns but the E is East Bound date SP 28 97. Someone more familiar with train routes might give us more specific information.

Possible:

Northern. Pacific. Railway. Mail car(riage). Winnipeg.

Then possibly Brandon.

I then read T&N or TsN. I do not have a clue on those letters.

Thanks all. I had one heck of a time figuring out the No 1 but eventually saw it.

I was reading it exactly as Johan was as T&N or T&H. Problem with tablets is had to go to settings and turn off auto rotate so I could read it with proper orientation.

This page shows the T&N rail line postmarks for Toronto & Nipissing Railway. It also shows a good example of how the No1 shows up with t he line under the o, explaining how this appears the way it does.
