Hi again, how to read this stamp mark? what info does it go on the top and the bottom? In the bottom I can see Nideck, which I can only find it to be a ruined castle in Strasbourg...



are these marks just the post office info and are very variable or they follow a rule? (asking just regarding the normal postal offices procedures)

I can make out "Be(rn) I believe, so Nideck may have been a Bern post office

yes, so the top is usually the bigger administrative region (at least in Switzerland) ? bottom the local?

I googled further and found this:

On June 1, 1881, Swiss Post opened a billable file under the name "Nydeck (Bern)". From 1896 it was called "Bern - Nideck" and from July 1, 1909 until its cancellation on October 30, 1927 "Bern 15 - Nideck"
