Ux4 Postal Card From Newfoundland

He is a circa 1880 postal card from Newfoundland.
They must have decided to start prove reading around circa 1881...haha

Here is a "Universal Postal Union" card...But was not very universal.
Being a flyspecker, I noticed the "U's" in "Universal" and "Union" were very different.

Look at the coloured arrows to see the differences of the letter "U".

Not earth shattering, but different.

Really nice card.

Wert. Due to the angle of the U's and the idea that the engraver tried to simulate lighting from the left side, I would expect some major differences in the "shading" lines. If you compare other letters, I'm sure you'll see just as many differences.

Keep up the fly specking.

Keen observation and well worth noting in any write up.

With these hand engraved items I would have been much more surprised if the letters had been identical or even very similar.
